I wake up every morning at 6am every day. Sounds brutal right? It’s actually amazing. I’m so used to it that I actually wake up about 20 minutes before 6am and could really wake up without an alarm clock. I’m going to detail in today’s post on why you should wake up early and tomorrow I will write about how to wake up early. Here’s a few reasons why you should wake up early every day.
- Less distractions. Since no one else is awake you finally can get stuff done with no one distracting you. I live in a college dorm so pretty much any time everyone is up and about causing a ruckus. The only time they’re not? 6am. It’s peaceful and a much better time to get things done.
- Feel like you can do anything. Waking up early is really empowering. It’s easy to take on the world when everyone in its asleep. Tackle every thing you have to do one at a time and you’ll be shocked at how much you get done.
- Have time to prepare for the day. Get everything ready for the rest of your day. Shower, prepare your meals, organize what you have to take with you to work. Since you’re less likely to be in a rush you’re also less likely to forget something.
- Eat breakfast. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and it’s a great way to set a trend for eating healthy the rest of the day.
- It’s impressive. Honestly, it feels great knowing you’re doing something that not many others can do. Take pride in waking up every morning and become one of life’s most endangered creatures: A morning person.
- Have more time to relax. Take it easy in the morning. Use the quiet time as ‘me’ time. Do something for yourself.
- You’re more energized to do work in the morning. You’re more likely to do great work after being well rested from sleep than at any other time in the day. Use it to your advantage and do your most important task first.
- Better sleep. Being on a sleep cycle is phenomenal. Go to bed early and you’ll be astounded at how much better sleep you can get day in and day out. Nowadays I’m ready to go to sleep around 10pm and I can wake up at 6am. I usually get a full 8 hours of sleep and I love it. I feel energized throughout the day and rarely have those mindless boring days due to a lack of sleep.
- Start every day right. The first hour of being awake sets the tone for the rest of your day. Make your first hour spectacular and build your own momentum.
- Less Stress. Because of all the things listed above you’ll have less stress. Less stress = happier life so start waking up early and love getting all of the benefits.
